Do You Really Know the DAIKIN V Series Plunger Pump?(2)

- How to Deal with Troubleshooting?
In the previous article, we got to know the DAIKIN V-series plunger pump. We all know that no matter what happens, it will be used improperly, and even the pump life will be shortened. So how to avoid such an instant, it’s depend on how much we know about it, and after all its soft ribs are clear, it naturally avoids the emergence of these so-called improper use moments.
Let's take a look at the common faults of the DAIKIN V-series plunger pumps. And what should we do if we really have these faults?

NO.1 Hydraulic Pump Output Flow is Insufficient or No Flow
A. Insufficient Intake: due to excessive resistance on the suction line or insufficient oil supply.
B. Excessive Leakage: mainly due to excessive pump clearance and poor sealing. This problem may be caused by the oil distribution plate being scratched by metal fragments, iron filings, etc., the oil leakage on the end face, or the sealing of the single valve sealing surface in the variable mechanism may be poor. The damaged part of the pump can be checked by checking the foreign matter in the hydraulic fluid in the pump body.
C. The tilt angle of the tilting disc is too small, and the displacement of the pump is small. This problem requires adjusting the variable piston to increase the swashplate inclination.

NO.2 Output Pressure is Abnormal (The output pressure of the pump is determined by the load and is proportional to the input torque)
A. The output pressure is too low: if the pump is in its own state, if the oil inlet line leaks or the hydraulic cylinder, check valve, reversing valve, etc. in the system have a large leak, the pressure will not rise. In this case, you need to find out where the air leaks or tighten the seal to increase the pressure.
When the relief valve is faulty or the adjustment pressure is low, the system pressure cannot rise. At this time, the pressure should be readjusted or the relief valve should be repaired.
If the cylinder of the hydraulic pump deviates from the valve plate and causes a large amount of leakage, if the cylinder may be broken in severe cases, it is necessary to re-grind or replace the hydraulic pump.
B. Excessive Output Pressure: If the load is constant and the pressure of the pump exceeds the pressure required by the load, the hydraulic components other than the pump, such as directional valves, pressure valves, transmissions and return lines, should be checked.

NO.3 Vibration and Noise (Vibration and noise are simultaneous)
A. Mechanical Vibration and Noise: If the pump shaft and the motor shaft are not concentric or die, the bearing of the rotating shaft, the coupling damage, the damage of the elastic pad and the looseness of the mounting bolt may generate noise. For pumps that operate at high speeds or that transmit large amounts of energy, check them periodically to record the amplitude, frequency, and noise of each component. If the rotation frequency of the pump is the same as the natural frequency of the pressure valve, it will cause resonance. At this time, the rotation speed of the pump can be changed to eliminate the resonance.
B. Noise Generated By the Liquid Flow In the Pipeline: the inlet pipe is too thin, the flow capacity of the inlet oil filter is too small or blocked, the intake pipe takes in air, the oil is too high, the oil level is too low, and the oil is insufficient. When a liquid product or the like is generated, noise is generated. Therefore, it is necessary to properly design the fuel tank and correctly select the oil filter, oil pipe and directional valve.

NO.4 Oil Spill
The Oil Leakage Of the Hydraulic Pump is Mainly Caused By the Following Reasons: the spindle oil seal is damaged or the shaft is defective or scratched; the internal leakage is too large, causing the pressure at the oil seal to increase, thereby damaging the oil seal; the drain pipe is too thin and too long, so that the seal is Oil leakage; the external oil pipe of the pump is loose and the pipe joint is damaged, the gasket is aged or cracked; the variable adjustment mechanism bolt is loose, the seal is broken; the cast iron pump casing is poorly welded.

NO.5 Hydraulic Pump Overheating
Liquid friction heat generation and mechanical friction heat generation: moving parts rub against each other due to the dry friction or semi-dry friction state of the moving surface
The high-pressure oil leaks into the low-pressure chamber through various gaps, and a large amount of hydraulic energy loss is converted into heat energy. Therefore, the correct selection of the gap between the moving parts, the tank volume and the cooler can eliminate excessive heating of the pump and excessive oil temperature. In addition, the oil return filter blockage will cause the oil back pressure to be too high, and the oil temperature will be too high and the pump body will overheat.

The above are some of the problems that DAIKIN V series piston pumps are prone to during use. Of course, it may not be listed. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for consultation. Small problems can not be ignored, only timely treatment can make the pumps play its biggest role.
